Hi guys, So I was involved in an accident and the truck has been at a body shop for the better part of the month now. Just today I was notified that the truck has frame damage, they didn't tell me how bad yet, but my concern is that everyone that I spoke with is telling me to reject the truck and have insurance total the truck and pay me for the truck. And for me to get a new truck because any truck that ever had frame damage will always have bad tire wear.
What are your thoughts on any of this? Should I contact my insurance and just tell them that I'm rejecting the truck repairs and for them to send me money for the truck?
Thanks for your input

They can replace a frame rail and damaged cross members. They unhook every thing and slide it out and slide the new one in.
Probably cost too much unless the truck is new.
How much have they spent on repairs before the found the bent frame?double yellow and Klleetrucking Thank this. -

Get that truck totaled.
I lost a truck due to frame damage once. Insurance totaled the truck and sold it I got money back out of it. They did offer to fix by replacing the entire frame which would take a few months. I chose not to because historically once a frame is hit that's it. Fatal.thejackal Thanks this. -

Look it is a tool
If it gets damaged
It needs to be replaced
Had a truck, brand new truck that is, which got into an accident last year, he hit another truck that decided to get involved with another accident.
The truck had 7500 miles on it, not even been on the road 8 weeks.
The insurance company repaired it, we sued the cause of the accident with the others to recoup and after another 10,000 miles, had to replace one set of steers and left tires on one axle. After another 10k, another set of tires. So it went back to the shop, they checked the frame and found it was bent subtly. They tried for a week to get it straight but it was a freak thing and they could not get it right, so the insurance wrote it off as totaled. I got a check for the replacement amount, the bank allowed me to use the money for a new truck and since the new one came in, no issues. I bought the old truck from the insurance for $35k and stripped it for replacement parts as needed for the other three.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
watch it now, there may be some Pete drivers on here, saying it's just a tool, will get someone riled, like telling the Harley guys, it's just a bike!
