I was injured on the job in 2015. Even after I was approved for social security disability the company argued I could still work. The system is insane.

Any corp that thinks a jury is going to side with them these days is taking a huge risk, as what happened to that driver could happen to anyone else. I would have settled for 10 million, 5 at the least.

I’m waiting for the part where Walmart tries to appeal the verdict only for it to get upheld and they end up paying even more than what the jury recommended!;)

What got me with this case is the steps Walmart took to avoid paying that driver's workman's comp. They went so far as to hire a private investigator. That part floored me. They spent more more money to fire him than they probably did to hire him lol.

I know, right. That’s about how far company loyalty goes these days.
Sam Walton would be rolling over in his grave if he has seen what his company has become!

I work for Walmart, they just sent me home without pay for tearing off a plastic bumper. I can’t return to work until I get my phone records, I have 45 days to prove I wasn’t texting while this minor incident happened or your terminated. They just fired a 20 year plus driver with a perfect driver record for not being able to produce his cell phone record in the 45 day period. This company is out of their minds, no wonder nobody wants to work for them, I am starting to look at other companies or buy my own truck.
