I worked there for 4 weeks and nobody would ever tell me what I was getting paid. First check was nothing i used too much fuel and the second check was 400 and that was after about 3ooo miles. Dont do it o/o"s the company drivers get more money.

Did you NOT ask what the CPM is when you made that first phone call to the recruiter?

That's the FIRST question you should ask before what kind of truck! some where in here there is a list of questions to ask any recruiter before you even pack the bag to head to the bus station!

It wasnt cpm It was 65% of what the load paid to haul it and nothing was even worth hauling. I couldnt ask a o/o there what they were getting paid cuz everybody was new just like me.As soon as everybody gets there first check they leave.

When you get paid by percent you have to ask to see the original invoice (what is the customer paying). If they don't want to show you that, then you don't do the work. The same thing happened to me over 10 years ago. Now I only work for cpm. You can get ripped off so easy on the percentage rates, it just ain't worth it.

So the difference between percentage and cpm is that you think you are getting paid more per load?

For some of you looking at this forum and have never been paid on percentage then listen.
They may say the load pays $1200. How do you know? You don't. Unless you have a very honest employer. They may tell you the load pays $1200 but in reality it is paying $2500. You will never know what the load really pays unless you ask the customer, or see the original paperwork. And the paperwork could be false also. The rule I have is NO PERCENTAGE ever again.

I would think your pay would be all over the board unless there were a lot of established customers with dedicated routes

If you work for percentage your pay will be all over the board. You will never know what the real pay is. You have to trust that your employer is telling you the truth, every time. All I can say is don't do it.

    Rollover the Original Thanks this.

No wonder it is called "Trout" Trucking.

    It sounds awful "fishy".
