    Hey guys,

When I get a load assignment, most of the time there will be a Tripsheet message to reply to on the Qualcomm. So, I fill out a new tripsheet and reply with the number. I have gotten some loads or assignments, but there was no Tripsheet message. So, I cannot reply....so I do not make out a tripsheet for that assignment? And then there is nothing to Transflo, right?

Also, a couple of times I have moved a trailer from A to B; for this, do I fill out a Driver Report form? Anything to Transflo? I cannot put a Proof of Delivery bar code on the BOL, I didn't have a BOL.

    How does this work?

Think of a trip sheet like a fax cover sheet. You only fax in bills right? Well if the load is set up in a way that you will not be delivering anything then don't worry about it. You must have signed bills for the trip sheet to be needed. Now you can stop here and keep it simple but there are other uses for the trip sheet. If you transfer in citations, or expenses or paper logs you use a trip sheet, you just don't put the load number or anything else in. Personally, if I had expenses or anything else, I would just wait till I had some bills to send in and do it all at once.

Driver Report Forms, drf, are personal and designed to help you out. If you have no bills you do not need a DRF, trailer moves, bt moves etc. Of course if you are dropping a loaded for another driver you are suppose to do one and leave it with the bills. Remember, use it for you with all the PO, PU and BOL numbers written on it. You never know what number the plant will want and you also don't know if they want to know what you're picking up or where you are going so write all that down. Also be accurate with the begin loading and end loading time. The other two times don't really matter but if you drop it the other driver will want to know about how long it will take to unload it.

    Stuka Thanks this.

And just a reminder, you always reply to a load. So if there is no trip sheet request there is nothing for you to reply to, therefore no sheet needed.

What does a DRF contain ethos? Never had to fill out one of those on the van side of things...

Load number, trailer number and type, product, how much product, arrive and depart times, customer info. Stuff like that.

Just as an FYI, the only time you are going to have to transflow documents and use a tripsheet is if you are delivering the load to the final destination. When you get unloaded or drop a loaded trailer at a customer you are always going to have to transflow proof of delivery (BOL, expenses, etc)

Some instances where you don't have to transflow anything?

You pick up a loaded trailer and drop it as a relay at one of our yards. All you have to do on a dropped relay is leave the paperwork in the nose of the trailer (on a high value load or a hazmat load you may have to leave the bills at the fuel desk, depending on which OC you're at).

You shuttle an empty trailer from one location to another. No bills there.

Any type of routing point where you're told to bobtail or deadhead to another location.

As far as the Driver report form, I assume you're talking about post trip inspection reports? Any time you drop a trailer AND at the end of the day you have to complete a driver report form. If you drop an empty or loaded trailer somewhere, fill out the post trip inspection (driver report form) and at the end of the day do a post trip on tractor and trailer (if you have a trailer at that time).

    Great reply, thanks ethos!

One follow up question: The post trip macro 6, I send it in at the end of a load when I am finished with the trailer? Or do I send it every day when I shut down for the night?
