The felonies and job history aren't a problem.
If Trazodon is on the banned list; you'll have to find an alternative and get the Trazodon out of your system and hair to pass a urine & hair follicle drug test.
@Moose1958 has the banned list of medicines.BigDog Trucker, TripleSix and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Trazodone is close to a narcotic and if prescribed for a mental health issue it can impact trucking at the banned medicine list.
Moose1958 as mentioned does have the best list.
The Felonies do not matter, lots of felons become truckers.
You are going to find that trucking gives YOU no sleep. Sometimes by day and sometimes by night every other day.
You are going to have to get that medicine out of your system before you get into trucking. -
Let's break this down to its basic point. Below you will find ALL the substances a trucker can NOT have in their body EVEN off duty.
Of course several of these substances can be used if a valid prescription is available to show the MRO. The only other banned substance is ANY medication used to control seizures.
I suggest speaking to your Physician if you want to drive any CMV if you are taking any medication like an antidepressant.tscottme, Rounded_nut and 88 Alpha Thank this. -
It would be up to the examiner to decide if you are disqualified from operating a CMV. Based on the list of and combination of medications provided, the likelihood of passing the medical certification is very poor. It may be in your best interest to consider a different career path.

I think I also need to bring up another important subject. I have taken notice of how the FMCSA/DOT has over the past few years started to put the liability when it comes to problems with the heart and Diabetes on the MEs to decide. More and more medical examiners are wanting to send a driver back to their private physician to get letters stating you are fit to drive. I am starting to get reports that a lot of physicians are NOT taking on this legal liability. This is why I also recommend the OP not try to drive while taking this medication.

My doctor's have approved me to get my CDL license. I can get a written note from the prescribing doctor saying it's ok for me to drive a truck. Cr England was going to let me go to there CDL training. But there dot physical doctor said no

No way around it. Company doc has final say.
Ive had two companies toss me out of orientation when their doc thinks I cannot meet hearing DOT standards despite a Audiogram taken locally that day plus one the previous week. I took one of them to court in my lifetime. -
If it's something that doesn't show up on a drug test . Don't say a word about it I've seen several truckers use antidepressants that are ssris which do not pop on hair or urine . Melton was one company that did not hire people that use antidepressants, the guy I know kept his mouth shut and got the job before going to a better company. Trucking companies lie like a rug so don't expect drivers not to .
