If you only did 66,500 before taxes in a year you must be easy to please. You must be in a company truck hauling cement. Their frac sand is another story. Alice Texas terminal is CRAP. They couldnt even keep a Terminal Manager there. Bob Houston out of Burleson Texas is worthless. He shouldnt be in management. How do I know???? I am a Retired Federal Law Enforcement Office who held a Management postiton up until I retired. Washington DC did not want me to retire. I was just ready. So I know what a Management position is. Bob Houston broke contract policy when he terminated my lease over an incident with my driver. The driver was sent to a job site he was not certified to be on by the dispatcher. The dispatcher knew he was not certified but sent him anyway. The truck slid in the mud hitting a flow brace bending the bumper. No damage to the flow brace. The job site safety man wrote in his report that Halliburton was in the wrong for 1. Not checking to see if the driver was certified. 2. Did not give a safety talk before the truck entered the job site. 3. Did not make the driver aware of the hazards of the job site. 4. Did not have the required 2 spotters when the truck was in motion. The driver was found not to be at fault for the truck sliding in the mud. Transwood was in the wrong for sending the driver to the job site knowing he was not certified to deliver there. The next day Bob Houston Terminated my lease. I had nothing to do with the incident, yet this sorry excuse for a regional manager terminated my lease! AND he did not terminate it in accordance with the written lease agreement. When I tried to get it corrected I was ignored. I contacted Roger Itus.....NOTHING. Would not return calls. Contacted Bob Houston by e-mail......ignored. Contacted corporate office, Jeff Nikodym in corporate office......ignored. Contacted Mark Penry in corporate office. All he did was get me the copies of the actual invoices. And I had to quote the Code of Federal Regulations to get them. I contacted the legal department.....ignored. After getting the copies of actual invoices I am now going thru them and will have proof that I was shorted in detention pay. This is not over yet.
So if you enjoy the money you are making........you are way too easy. You made 66,500 before taxes in a year????? I made over 95,000.00 before taxes in 6 months with Transwood. They should be kissing your butt for working that cheap if your an owner operator.
Transwood, Inc Omaha, NE!! Stay Away!

Your right......this was before it was all said and done. But think about it. If I took out half of that money for taxes and expences.....I still made 45,500 AFTER TAXES for 6 MONTHS. So thats quite a bit more than driving their company truck making 66500 for a year before taxes.
I still stand by my statement that this company is CRAP! -
For the second time, i am not an o/o like you once was for transwood, I am a company driver. The way I see it an o/o might make 20-30 thousand more than me after taxes and everything, dont get me wrong thats a bit more money than i make, and im not willing and ready for the extra headaches and risks that come with being an o/o. maybe one of these days I'll have my own truck and what not, i just think 66 K is very good in my book and very much enjoy working with my terminal and people in it.
Sorry to hear bout what happened with you and transwood, hope you get every penny you work for from them...Last edited: Apr 3, 2012

all in all "Mr. Transwood" or dad to me just gets the overall picture he doesnt have anything to do with the different terminals. and if you want a shop to have your truck looked at try shop 95 in council bluffs

I just hired on at the Lake Charles, La terminal and I must say that the terminal manager there nothing short of one of the nicest people I've ever met. I've met drivers that have been with the company for 15 to 20 years. There's an O/O that's been leased on since 1986. That's says alot for a company if you ask me. Yes they do run some older trucks but take into consideration where these trucks go on a daily basis. I've seen these trucks have to get pulled in and out of jobsites with a dozer. Who would want to buy new expensive equipment and have it put through that kind of punishment? By the way, if I can be home on weekends, a night or two during the week AND make almost $70,000 a year as a company driver I think I may have found a home with Transwood.

well all i have to say right now is if anybody is looking for a job stay far away from transwood.i mean far far far away

Just checked the Stl Craigslist today and seen they were hiring. It seems to me that 66,500 is pretty good money for an company driver. I had to work pretty darn hard to make that same money in my current job which entailed alot of back breaking work. While I am currently looking for a new job, these post do have me concerned about this company. Thanks to all for the info.

bad company to work for
-
Is this the same company I see hauling propane, In OK and KS. I've been thinking of checking them out.

I work out of the Chanute and independence ks terminals. I like it a lot. I get home almost every night. I have worked for a lot of companies in the past. None of them have been as good to me as transwood. I see a lot of bad things on here about transwood. I think is like any other company there is good terminals and bad terminals. As far as pay wise it pretty good for being able to be home as much as I'am. I think it's not right for some people to bad mouth the WHOLE COMPANY when they have only dealt with one or two terminals. Its like everything else there is good in all and bad in all.
d o g Thanks this.
