Transplace says they get this load booked for $1500 all the time, but during my market research I see this load listed by many at a starting price of $1925.
So who is running for them and why? If any O/O books this load for less than $2200, he is barely making it. If the average for a run does not equal at least $2.15/milehe is only helping the monkey in the middle. Customers are screaming over the rates (Average $3.0/mile to $4.50/mile according to one angry shipper on TV ) they are being charged by the brokers and shippers.

Maybe they do, maybe they don't get it moved for $1500. Could be a lie, closing technique (fear of loss). If someone is taking them for that then it's just a matter of time. The good thing about this business is the bad thing about this business. The cost of entry is so low. People can buy a truck, puta down payment on insurance, buy their tags, etc. and then they're on the street with you and me. With probably no real education in the business they can easily drive themselves out of business in three months before they even know what's happening. Of course increasing fuel prices will speed this process up.

Why are you surprised? They are running a business just like everybody else. They have expenses just like you do so of course they are going to try and book it for as little as possible. Why do you think all these brokers should do you any favors? Move on pal.

I agree that we all are here for one thing to make money, but with some courtesy and ethics, Wright?

Dayton, what is that, SunnyD? It's probably a contracted rate and so if we payed any more than that we might have been taking a loss.
