great trailer. people dont take care of them or put too much weight and blame the brand. I still have two in my fleet and bought them new back 01 with walkers trailer in Monroe and i had a few Step Deck during the years, mostly doonan now i got reitnouer which i love. But I got two Eagle, I dont get rid of them because they were the first two step deck i bought when Step Deck business was starting to "boom" and pay was great. had minor repairs, mostly the floor when bolts started to get loose but NEVER frame work. They been coast to coast all these years and running strong.

don't hold me to this, but I think the eagle has steel frame and aluminum cross members and aluminum supports from the frame to the deck and the eagle 11 has steel crossmembers and steel supports which are welded to the frame and X Members where the eagle has them bolted.

I also have had a good transcraft eagle trailer which I wish I never would have sold last summer. I never had any problems with cracks and that trailer hauled an awful lot of iron( Like 65000) Baltimore to Chicago and back.you can not put big singles or belly load these trailers and make figure 8 turns with them. Or Uturns, that is what breaks them up.That belly loading day after day is really hard on any trailer.A couple summers ago I loaded shingles and told told the forklift guy put a pile up front and a pile in the rear,he said he had been loading trucks there for 10 years and never had anyone want to load like that. My reespone was I am not like every one else.

Thanks for the replies everyone. For those of you that have had lots of trouble with Transcrafts, what year models were these trailers? Any particular years worse than others?

Appreciate the info. I've got a buddy with a 2000 model Eagle. He's had it for a couple years with zero problems so far. Pulls coils with his 100% of the time. 48,000lb singles and up to 24,000 doubles. I've been pretty impressed with his so far.

I had a 1998 super beam, and a 2008 eagle II. The 98 cracked and broke every other week. The 2008 I had for a year and ditched it, the eagle started sagging and rolling really bad under load. Good thing about transcraft they are cheap. As long as you baby it you should be ok

We've never had any trouble out of our Transcrafts we've had one of the famous Mac's that got sprung all to #### one day in the tracks of a TRANSCRAFT. It's all personal experience, and the way someone drives if you got somebody pulling one who doesn't care it won't take long to ruin any trailer.

I've found a 2004 Eagle that looks really good and at a good price. Thanks for all the input. I'm gonna try and check it out this weekend hopefully. Anyone here have any input on the '04 models? It is an Eagle.

Its always about personal experience. In my operation transcraft fall apart. I still have 1995 &1997 Dorseys , 1999 &2001 fontaines, a 2000 talbert, 2005 reitnouers, couple 2013 reitnouers, 2014 manac all still operating. The transcarfts have come and went both 98 and 08 models same note the 2010 was not a good year for reitnouers those didn’t make it either.
