So I’ve been working with transam for a few months now. Recently I had an emergency to go home and be there for the birth of my newborn. Well before I left for the emergency transam had me sitting for about 8 days “waiting for a load.” Now their layover policy is if you’ve been sitting for 24 hrs your layover pay begins to kick in which is $100 a day. I checked the handbook with my fiancée to confirm if this was true and it was. Throughout these 8 days I’ve messaged my dm on the qualacom to see what’s the hold up and each time they said they were looking for a load. On the 8th day I asked if I’d be getting layover pay for sitting for so long and my dm confirmed I’d be getting layover pay for all that time I sat. Fast forward to the beginning of this week I’ve had two paychecks not reflecting my layover pay. Instead I got $65 one week and $22 the next week. Upon seeing the $65 paycheck I made a call to pay roll and they said that I needed to talk to my dm to get it confirmed. I called my dm and they said for those 8 days they didn’t know I was doing which I had to remind them I was sitting because they were “looking for a load.” They said they would talk to their supervisor to figure it out so I expected todays paycheck to reflect my layover and yet it still didn’t. So what do I do going forward to get my layover pay that even my dm confirmed on a paper trail that I would get?

You have a few months experience, so change companies.
snowlauncher, snowmantrucking101 and Lonesome Thank this. -
Schneider will take you on for a lot of their jobs with 3 months experience, depending on your location.
This assumes you also have a good safety record, & can pass their physical.

KLLM is a coast-to-coast reefer company and will probably hire you since you have reefer experience.
Where is your location?

When I first started driving in 2014 I would see TransAm trucks everywhere. Now I hardly ever see them. Is the company having financial troubles or something?
Bud A. Thanks this. -
They call it TranScam for a reason
