my experience at transam was a company driver reatained more income then lease drivers
they have 1100 trucks and have had for 5 years
train 40-50 new people per week
so that is how many quit a week
I picked up abandoned trucks for them
was usually 8-10 all over the country to choose from
not a bad first job to get experience if you go company -

I would look at other companies. I looked into many companies and found that transam is not the best lease. If you are wanting to lease there are better options. If you want company Look at smaller ones near you. I am With JCT we make more per mile and the lease payment is based on miles you run. I would look for a company that has that option it makes a diffreance. When you do hometime you dont have a 2000 payment for the week you did not run

and that's with only going home "2 days per month"!!?!!
a noob coming out of school can do better than that with the right company
heck if I stay out a full week as a company driver I gross $1100 - $1300 a week and I have less than a year experience
If you're leasing you better be making at bare minimum at least 50CPM to yourself at the end of the week, if not you're better off being a company driver. -
84 CPM... is what they pay you but you have to pay for the truck and a bunch more

Their terminal in Kansas is about 3 miles from my house. I couldn't ask for a closer trucking company to work for. But I just can't bring myself to work there and be forced into a lease, at least not at what they pay per mile. But, I really would love to have one of those 680's.
