no bacause youd have to have a VERY heavy load on a very heavy and fast forklift and SLAM into the nose of the trailer and even then you probably still wont tip it....I've loaded thosands of trailers without nose jacks...sheet im loading and unloading PUPS without nose jacks everynight and they dont tip either unless your an idiot....

watched a trailer this summer sitting in the parking lot not even on a dock nose dive into the ground.
It was because the pavement went out from underneath it due to the heat.pjowett Thanks this. -
thats not what this guy is talking about. Im almost postive he's trying to find a picture of a trailer that nose dived while being loaded without a nose jack for some stupid safety policy he's going to pitch...I've worked at places that require that but unless its a pup its completly unessisary.

I have never seen it with a van trailer, but have seen it on a 48 ft flatbed in a hayfield.....

I am looking for a picture because we have a "safety committee" that thinks we require a Jack stand for a 53 ft trailer because OSHA says it is a tipping hazard. I have been in the industry for over 35 years and have only seen a pup trailer tip. I have never seen a docked trailer 45 ft, 48 ft or 53 ft tip. So I want a picture. I don't think there is one out there as a real moron would have to load 40,000 lbs of steel right up in the nose.

The main purpose of the jackstand is prevention in case the landing gear collapses. Not the tipping up in the air on 53 footers. Pups can tip is why they use them. It was 2-3 ago I seen a trailer collapse at Smuckers in Toledo. It warped the ground and buckled in two as freight flew out the sides. Like MN said the pavement was hot and it sunk in the ground. It was in the lot and not at a dock. But docks without pads use them sometimes depending on the safety guy.
There is no such thing as overly safe. If you see something like that, usually something happened somewhere, someplace. -
I've seen a flat bed that was overloaded in the front but the dolly legs collapsed, so that made the nose tip. I am looking for a picture of a 53 ft dry box with it's nose on the ground and the ### in the air.

I drove a Forklift at a Previous Job.
One of the Craziest you would ever see. Yard Dogs used to say (to scare me I think), one of these days a Trailer is gonna move on me, because I went into them so fast.Never did happen. They never did Nosedive either.pjowett Thanks this.
