Looking at parking my tractor/trailer in a secure lot for a weekend every now and then when I go to see family.
What should I pay? I seen 1 place online for $200 per month. That would make me like $20 a weekend, but since it's a little different scenario I'm unsure.
The guy asked how much would I pay, I said I don't know because I've never done this. Trucker Forum to the rescue!!! He quoted $75 which I think is very high.
What should I pay, or offer?!

Unfortunately, these places only charge by the month (not how often you plan to use it)...so you pay what they charge whether you park there every weekend or once a month. If I had a parking issue, I would likely negotiate to $60.00 a month---that is an average of $2.00 per day. Then haggle from that point.
Another Canadian driver and hal380 Thank this. -
I would pay that 200 a month because honestly I've seen $2.00 an hour so if you do a 34 that's $68.00 a weekend.
another option is buy two glad hand locks and a king pin lock and find a nice lot or somthing and do thT and just check up on it each day.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -

paryki, update your profile with your location so we can give you better advise.
I know for example there's a place in Oklahoma City called City Trailer with a big lot where you rent a spot for $75 per month. It has a guard shack, fencing, lit... and has a driver's lounge, showers, game room, TV room, and service center. Quite a deal for $75. There are similar businesses around the country.
My secure parking costs a couple of nice steaks each time I go home. The pit bulls need to be kept friendly enough to exit the truck, although I'm beginning to wonder if that's going to be enough next time around. Last time they were giving my legs the stink eye.Another Canadian driver and hal380 Thank this. -

a problem with carriers that hire drivers who "Live Anywhere"
No terminls close to where drivers live,,local laws than ban truck parking,,many communities also ban parking a tractor at a home.
try a local construction company or business that has trucks, maybe a local farmer.check with you local Police and ask where you can park legally.
I have a friend that owns a townhouse in woodbridge VA,,he has twice paid to recover his truck at a local towing company $750 each time plus the parking ticket. If you rent you might try moving to a rual area .In Los angeles and other areas it is common to pay $200/mo for a parking place,,Remember you do not have to right to park anyplace that is privately owned.
I own 2 1/2 acres and have let friends park or store trailers for free,,Another Canadian driver and hal380 Thank this. -
I pay $75 a month. Sounds like that's about the going rate
