I'm not sure where to put this question so I'm throwing it here.

I have a 2015 Great Dane dry van with the 3 rivet stainless trim tail lights. They are starting to go and they are a lot more expensive than the rubber grommet ones that just pop in. Are the holes the same size for all? Can I just swap to the rubber grommet type?

They are much cheaper and certainly easier to pull one if you just need to wiggle a wire to see get it working.

Should be, lights are the same side. LED’s were popular theft items until everyone got them. Drill out one and see what plug it has and try it.

They are the same size. Drill out the rivets, and pry them out with a screwdriver

These are more likely to be truck lite model 44 lights, $20 each at amazon. I just bought another two dozen for replacing defective ones on trailers. They usually last a while.

I also used them on my little trailers, 4 inch hole in the bracket and three screws,

Yeah they are the same size hole... I just replaced 2 about a month ago. Like others said drill out rivets... Or a chisle and a few good wacks from a big hammer... Then use rubber grommet style.

One reason why those are riveted in is for anti-theft. If you ever come down south and bump docks at the border with just grommets holding them in. Keep an eye on them. Lol. The megas can’t keep the leds on their trailers down there.

Hmmm. Well, not really a problem for me. They'll steal my bike before those I bet. Anyway, no TX for me in the last 2 years, and no deep SW except a couple runs to Phoenix.

I have a rivet gun and drill on board and I've pulled mine to wiggle wires and replaced one or two but I'm over it. I'm gonna find 4 grommet type and keep a couple spares on board.
