Tractor age restriction

Farm2fleet, Landstar, Admiral Merchants don't have an age restriction on tractors. If you have your own authority, no age restriction either. As long as the truck-tractor passes DOT requirements good to go.

Every company out there is going to ELDs, If your truck does not have an ecm or electronically controlled fuel injection, you will probably not be accepted.

 

There are hopper bulk load carriers that use older tractors. Some like Eclipse in Nebraska have hoppers to pull. Problem with older engines is fuel economy, but with the fuel prices down good luck.

 

Not "every company out there" is going down that road until the dust settles. There are legal challenges to the mandate that will make their way through the courts before many carriers will make that decision.

 

Trucks 1999 and older are exempt from the ELD mandate.
