When the ABS light is on that is indicating that there is currently an Active ABS system fault. It could be anything, anywhere. All or part of your ABS will be disabled, but you will have normal regular air brakes. There is absolutely no way of telling what is wrong with out getting a fault code. Some trucks have ways to initiate ABS fault flash codes where the ecu will flash the ABS light in a sequence and you can count the number of flashes and get the code number. Check your owners manual, as I am not familiar with your truck. Some trucks have an actual "ABS DIAGNOSTICS" switch under the dash somewhere that will start the sequence. If you can't find anything, you are looking at taking the truck to the reputable dealer. Since you drive a Freightliner I highly recommend you go to a Freightliner dealer where they know your truck's wiring the best and have all the wiring and diagnostic information that pertains to your truck! Good Luck!
