Dropped loads have happened a couple times with TQL, but in my experience, the TQL dropped loads were quickly reimbursed to us via a TONU. Off the top of my head, they ended up paying between $100-200 each. I actually found other brokers to be worse at handling these issues, and in turn, we were quick to learn how to prevent such problems. We have gotten into the habit of NOT BOOKING loads more than 24-36hrs out. And when we do book, we request dispatch as soon as practical and don't commit the truck until we get the dispatched. Granted - if you request dispatch before your truck is empty, you better well make sure your truck empties on time, or else have a plan B to make sure you can keep your end of the bargain. But, if all goes to plan, getting dispatched and put "ON THE LOAD" ensures you have a right to a TONU if they pull the load at last minute. This doesn't eliminate the potential to be stranded in timbucktwo on a Friday afternoon, but at least you'll have a few extra bucks in your pocket for the inconvenience.

Does anyone else know of another company that charges more than TQL for a fuel advance? $25.00
Has anyone else had there "1-day-quick-pay" turn into many days? I have.

Get that bank account in order and you won't need a broker to front you fuel money. Weakness on your part and they certainly have you redflagged in their system as "desperate" because of it.

You'd be surprised by how many carriers need a fuel advance or quick pay.

The only time I would ask for a fuel advance is if the broker's credit is lower than a A rating. I usually ask for 40-50% upfront and than COD or quick pay after I deliver and fax them the BOL. Usually they will do it for 3% and I haven't had any problems getting paid that way. I never used TQL's quick pay. Too much hassle to get paid faster for the 5% they charge for it. It is easier to just bill them or factor them.

If your rate confirmation was signed and sent back then you were under contract and if they cancelled you can use the TONU and get money for that so always keep that in mind- I had something similar happen to a driver I was working for and we ended up with $200 for it.

But it does not matter wheather you hate or not they will find your own partner or brother to screw the next, if they cant do to you because there is no unity in the drivers. Most of the members in this blogsite are either brokers themselves or they favour them only. Your complaint does not mean anything.
TQL told my dispatch that they were loosing money if they paid more than $1425 from Stevenson AL to Woodlawn MD, with dead head about 110 miles and about 700 loaded miles with 45K two weeks ago when fuel price was $4.18 average. BTW what would you haul this load for, if you did not hate them??

Most brokers find a cheaper rate index lane and list a load from there that way the negociating point is lower and then they can BS you better.
