Hi all. Thanks for all the help on my last post.

I'm talking with a recruiter from TMC. I know they do flatbed and yes I am actually choosing to go down that route.

Question is, I'm in Michigan SE Detroit area and I've heard TMC has some really good loads better than others in Michigan... anyone know why? Or if this is even true?

Also any experience you have with TMC I'd appreciate. I'm expected plenty of pros and cons for both as I know flat bedding is not for everyone.

    Thanks again.

For what it’s worth I used to see TMC all over where I run. This past week I pulled a load across I-80 from Davenport right past Des Moines where TMC is headquartered all the way to Council Bluffs before heading north. Didn’t see a single TMC truck. I’d do a little sleuthing to find out why before signing on.

They do Home Depot loads out of a distribution center. Preloaded you have to tarp and strap. Crap freight crap pay.

TMC runs out of most Gerdau steel locations including up in Jackson, MI, which is a horrible shipper pretty much nationwide.

TMC used to be a good company to work for. I worked there a few years until 1992 , drove one of the last W9's before the change to T600.
Back then you needed a year or so flatbed experience to apply.
I think now it a starter company. Mr Harold died not too long ago, he was the owner, his brother Walt ran the shops when I was there he's been dead many years. Sad , it was a good place to work back then.

Yeah I remember when they were a cut above. I was with Suttles Tank back then. The “americas best” company. Mostly freight shakers with gray base coat and red white and blue stripes and logos. Always thought TMC and Suttles had some of they nicest looking company trucks. Sad to see where they’re at now. Even though they have dual stacks on their trucks only one is functional. The other is just a dummy, bolted in place. I know it’s a silly thing but it just says something about how shallow and retarded the company has become. I will say they still seem to do a decent job training on load securement and tarping. Other than those Home Depot loads they usually look pretty squared away regarding what’s on the deck
