I remember when Titan Transfer started. A friend of mine works there, though I am not sure what his position is now. I have talked to many of their drivers after a strange incident... One morning I was coming in to Shelbyville in my semi and Titan had just formed as a company. It was school-time and the yellow lights were blinking, I turned on my hazard lights, slowed down to less than the posted school-time speed limit, watched out of my windows and looked in my mirrors very carefully... little did I know I was being watched. Once we were past the school and on open road again, a woman was beside me in her car showing a business card to me, asking me to pull over... I did, she pulled in front of me. It was the then-safety officer for Titan Transfer. We talked in front of my truck. She told me she had been watching me for about 5 miles, and when she saw me slow way down, turn on my hazard blinkers, and watch very carefully for children in that busy school zone, she wanted me to immediately come to work at Titan. "We're always looking for drivers like you," she said. I told her I was very happy where I was (at that time it was another Shelbyville, TN company) but if something happened to that, I would come to work there. I never did, but might consider it in the future.
She is an example of the kind of staff they have there, genuinely concerned about the drivers, and their safety. I would strongly consider Titan as a permanent place to work, as long as the staff includes personnel like that. -
One of my former bosses from another company is now the President of Operations at Titan! Just found that out. They have really grown and are a great company. Try to get on there.

Just curious, why did you put this in the Bad Trucking company thread.Someone may see that and stay clear of Titan without even reading the post. You read 50000 bad posts on here about companies, you may be at a point where anyone listed on this forum under bad companies may not even get a read.I'm just sayin.
mgt1085 Thanks this. -
I worked at Titan Transfer 3 1/2 years ago for nearly a year. I can tell you this much;
1. How you are run is much to do with what dispatcher you get. I ran for 4 months for a great dispatcher and got plenty of miles - like an 1800 mile run back from Vegas to Nashville in 36 hours then drove to St. Paul the next day. Soon after that, then they moved me over to the jerk no one cared for. As typical, my dispatching suffered. I'd sit 18-20 hrs after getting empty to get another load assignment.
2. Shop usually gets your truck fixed right the first time and little issues with maintenance.
3. They did turn the governers back shortly after I left and everyone suffered. 3 1/2 yrs ago it was 72-73 mph. If you had even 1 ticket of any sort, they would set your cruise governer to 65 mph, so your foot would fall asleep on the throttle in most of the areas you ran just to keep up with traffic.
4. My last straw with Titan was after I got my first run of the week done on a Monday night. That week I drove to Florida on Sunday to deliver and back hauled batteries back to Nashville from southern GA. My logs were legal and I was fresh and ready to run the rest of the week. I called in Tuesday morning and talked to my dispatcher at 0700 to remind him I'm ready to run. At 1000 I sent a Qualcomm and said "What's the hold up for a load?" At 1600 I got a load assignment that delivered in Carbondale, IL on Thursday at 1530 and they wanted me to hook to it and run. What?! Nearly 48 hours to go 200 miles and then sit (no early drop)?
I declined the load and stated that the owner wanted the drivers to drive if they had hours available. I had 50 hours of driving availble for the week and said I'd be more profitable for me to pull a different load. The owner called me and told me to come to Shelbyville to his office. Once I got there, he said "When you declined the load, you resigned." I pleaded my case and based it upon his recent letter and qualcomm messages to drivers, but he had nothing of it. I pulled my Pete in the shop and unloaded my gear to the amazement of everyone.
So, good equipment at Titan, but DON'T EVER decline a load for any reason because they WILL let you go. Would I work there again if they'd take me back? No due to the poor dispatcher and forced dispatch. -
Curiosity what two dispatchers did you have?
And didn't Curtis tell you it was forced dispatch as long as legal when you applied?
Well sort of. No New York.
But it isn't for everybody. -
Stephen or Chris? -

Looks like a regular fleet with the same aggravations we hear from other company drivers.
Titan drivers seem to be decent guys............

I would not suggest Titan Transfer. I know a man that got sick while in their truck and had to have emergency surgery...they fired him while he was still under a surgeon's care and they cancelled his health insurance and through him over into Cobra at $1800 a month. So not only did he not have income but he didn't have the money to pay for his health insurance that he needed.
Also, they sell a disability policy with their health insurance that only pays for like two months. You are ask what amount per week you want to take out and then after you apply for it...you find out that it only pays a percentage of the amount you applied for...but they don't tell you that up front. Also... a good part of their insurance is self-insuranced and it takes 4-6 months for the claims to be paid and then by that time the providers are suing you.
