Just go to any tire shop with a spin balance machine and watch the tires go round & round.
Not only looking at the tire, but the rim also.

I know there are some guys that think that grinding 50,000 miles of rubber off a tire to make it round makes perfect sense. If a tire is that out of round it is in the casing, not the tread. Replace it. There are no reputable tire manufacturers that recommend the practice. That is why you probably won't find anyone in Chicago to do it. It seems to be more prevalent in the Southeast, never seen it anywhere else.

Completely agree. If your tires are that far out get new ones and preferable better quality

I do it for two reasons:

    1. Tire is flat spotted from a broken air line or whatever. If they are almost new, I’m not replacing them for flat spots.

    2. I roll my steers back to the drives. I’ll shave them if they’ve been up front too long and get a little out of round. They will last longer when they run true.

    Trade for better tires...... !!

Truing is a shadetree fix for a garbage tire that has a QC issue with runout or possibly broken belts.

Hahahaha yup, that's the mentality for sure !! Lol

The USA Wal-Mart generation of price instead of quality ...

Contact your Michelin dealer. My experience has been that Michelin stands behind their tires if there is a defect.

It's worth talking to them because michelin tires shouldn't be screwed up like that.
