DISCS. But I imagine it would entirely depend on their condition. When I drove stick I rarely used my brakes so they'd probably last forever, but the auto has me using them much more regularly. Have you had them refinished? What's the depth of the wear?

I'd ask wrench. He changed my front drive axle in 50 minutes start to finish, with his mobile truck lol.

Maximum wear limit is stamped on the drum. Probably 16.620, about 16 and 5/8's inch. If the inside diameter is not larger than that it is it is acceptable for reuse.
Sounds like you got your moneys worth already and nothing stops like a new drum when you need it.
Mileage does not matter its wear. My daughter just had the front brake pads replaced on her mid sized SUV. Mechanic said they were not worn out yet but she told them to go ahead and replace them anyway. They are original with 170,000 miles. I said: noway! She said: Yes way! You taught me how to drive.

Their cheap enough, I'd definitely replace, keep the old ones for spares or trade them in for some big $ scrap money(about 6$,lol).

Drums are cheap. So are shoes. Replace everything at every brake job.
I find that although the drums might still be within spec they wont last 1 more compleat lining set. I always replace it all when doing a brake job then no worries goin down the road.
