A lot more grocery distribution centers for Walmart are having Walmart company trucks based out of them… For instance, Cheyenne has Walmart company truck there McCarran Nevada has company trucks Corrine, Utah has company trucks Harrisonville, Missouri has company trucks and as someone has previously stated Washington courthouse has company trucks based out of that DC as well… They also have company trucks based out of North Platte Nebraska as well… So Walmart is more and more putting company trucks on the grocery dc’s

They told us about this a long time ago. They want to get rid of the dedicated and go 100% private fleet. Schneider was hauling some stuff out of the DC in Topeka. Thier on time delivery rate was 48%. Goodbye Schneider. They brought in the fleet and Their on time rate is now 100%. Walmart is tired of bad service and these dedicated companies tearing up our trailers.

Well they can't keep drivers who are on the Swift Wal Mart DC accounts. They never keep the same shift...work nights days back to nights, that's why they are always hiring.. I have a relative that used to work it.. yea working for Wal Mart now is so great...total micro mgt..watching your every move on camera..have fun with that.

If you do the job the way they want you to they leave you alone. The guys crying about micro management are generally the screw ups.

They have a training/ testing center at a mall in Delaware here and they are constantly busy with new drivers doing pre trip, backing and road tests. I deliver locally in the area.

So is now the time to apply to work for the once revered private fleet? Ten years in March, clean miles and record. I'd be a fabulous candidate, and hell they advertise to me every time I step inside a Walmart with a nice little banner at the entrance.

Unless they can push me over 100k with weekends and holidays off, home daily 4 days out of the week and no cost health insurance, I'd rather not deal with uniforms and the corporate BS. I wish them the best, but when you are advertising your once sacred truck driving jobs to anyone with a pulse, you aren't in any position to be grabbing back what you outsourced years ago.

The "New Walmart" is just the old swift, no class, brain deadhead, wheel holders. Some of the worst drivers on the interstate. 68 mph at all times, even through the construction zones. They make the white Volvo drivers look like saints.

Lol. They are paying. Only a soul without honor would not do the job the way they want it done.

...And strangely reminiscent of the words “If you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to worry about”, which is the worst slippery slope in the history of man.
