After all the talk of the reason's why freight rates are so low? Here's the REAL REASON are you ready for it?
It's cheap because all of You that load it give rise to more of it.
Yes you heard right you that haul this crap are reason it exist just for your shear misery that you bring on yourself.
Are you all so gullible that you believe the lie they tell "you can put something with it" ? Cheap freight only breeds more cheap freight.
Calling loading a shopping cart or whatever foolish thought you have. It's just a slow way to go broke while making everyone money except YOU.
If there was this other piece of freight to go with it don't you think the friendly broker would have it already ?
Hauling ltl and cheap rate stuff is likened to a death by a thousand paper cuts. You're still dead in the end and just suffered a whole lot more due to your misguided efforts.
One thing for sure if you let it sit they will find money to pay happens all the time to me drivers drop these crappy loads and I get a call to see if I'm still interested for more money of course. So while you think you're setting the world on fire I'm sitting waiting on your load to come to me at the right price after you can't afford to buy insurance or pay for a repair.
If it was all up to me all that cheap stuff would still be on the docks overflowing.
So sleep well knowing you create your own problems by being weak and having no patience.
My rant is over for now.

amen. problem is, so many have gone in debt and now cant afford to sit a few days otherwise they will loose something. also, there is a overflow of hobby truckers out here pretending to be on vaction. from one extreme to the other, theres not enough of the ones in the middle, who its usually affects the most.I also blame the mega carriers and truckdriving schools too......

Anyone ever figure out that the Truck To Load Ratio is a bit high?

LA to Denver loads that normally command between $2300-$2600 are now going for between $1500-$1900.........It's a "Numbers Game".....And right now the "Numbers" favor the shippers....

Not all the drivers are owner operators out there.80% of drivers are company drivers and they don't know the price of load they're hauling.I hate cheap freight,I spit on it,but it's not cheap because of me or any other OO.Put blame on mega carriers, who keep buying more and more trucks, having more and more drivers. They are the ones who can't afford to have truck sitting,so they will haul anything to keep truck running

The ones that sit around waiting for BETTER rates have not helped things either , the brokers know that by Thursday they will be thinking the rate they turned down on Monday morning is more appealing than another 24 hours at the TRUCKSTOP.

And there has ALWAYS been cheap freeight and no shortage of trucks to haul it.

If you haul cheap loads today because you're one load ahead of the repo man, you might as well let the truck go back to the bank and find yourself a job.

And again. if your pulling partials that have exclusive use, and you don't put anything with it. Then who's fault is it? Truly. this is gonna turn into yet another rant thread. Since the begininng of time it has been, freight to a good lane sucks. Freight out of that lane pays well. If you can't handle this then I may I suggest you put a for sale sign in your truck and move on. Nothing is gonna change. Either haul it or bounce out. PERIOD END OF SUBJECT.
