you want good or cheap? you cant have both!
freightwipper, fortycalglock, Big_D409 and 2 others Thank this. -
You get what you pay for & tires are no exception. Try going through a buying group or look on OOIDA for their discounts for Michelin/Bridgestone etc for a better deal than what you can get on your own. Avoid cheap tires.

I was looking at Yokohama or continental I understand they have awesome rolling resistance
-
Yokohama's ain't exactly cheap........ More of a middle of the road tire.

I will say I only go with b.f. or currently michelin on steers. but on trailer or drives I have used china brand. currently have china on drives now doing very well, had to, HAD TO have balanced though & proper inflation are keeping my drives wearing perfectly even across the tire. saved $2000 from my former premium drives b.f. st230 the think with foreign tires, you never know how bad out of round they are going to be. some foreign tires do surprisingly well, while others are not worth putting on. you just do not know. I noticed lately that there are so many copying of tread patterns you can't tell em apart.
NinjaWax Thanks this. -
The lowest cost tire will always be the ones that last the longest but not necessarily the cheapest upfront price.
roshea, areelius, Tropsnart and 1 other person Thank this. -
I used BFG444, 2 sets before RR149, they used to last 450k ,and i switched to new low rr BFG DR454, RR100 in august 2014, soon after were launched on the market . I have 250k already ,team truck, and I'm happy , I check air once a week are wearing even and are not very expensive, for steer I use Michelin XZA3+.Last edited: Feb 26, 2016
BigHossVolvo and Accidental Trucker Thank this. -
For steers I like the Yokohama RY617. They last fairly well, providing you have a good alignment.
For drives, I prefer the XDN2.
