I had a virgin mobile, owned by sprint and on their network. NE, and KS don't even exist to them. The coverage was pretty bad most everywhere else. Switched to verizon and have yet to find a spot without signal.

If you are on Verizon I would go with the Nexus One from Google over the Droid (which I have). The Nexus One has a better camera, faster processor, and a better screen. Of course, if you are in need of a physical keyboard, only the Droid will do.

If you are on Sprint, I would wait just a bit until the EVO comes out. It will be the top phone to have when it comes out.

For At&t and T-Mobile, check out the phone that Dell will be coming out with. It has a HUGE screen at 5 inches. (Although I can't see why anyone who does 48 would go with anything other than VZW or Sprint).

Here is the phone I purchased recently.>> Samsung a657 Rugged and no frills. I'm not one that needs a camera or keyboard. Heck, I don't even have text service. Overall, its a tuff phone I can drop it and not worry about breaking it.

The iPhone has been a great addition to the truck and having internet and Google Maps, especially the satellite and street views, has really saved my butt a few times. Of course, I'm stuck with AT&T's crappy national coverage, but I'm hoping Verizon gets the iPhone soon, as the rumors seem to suggest.

Verizon has the best coverage nation wide in my opinion. I got a blackberry tour about a year ago. At the time they were offering a free hp netbook with the bb purchase. Of course, thats with the 2 year contract. I went ahead and made the plunge on both and couldnt be happier.

Thanks For The Replys guys you have been helpful,
I have verizon as my network supplier, I like them so far haven't had very many dead spots lol.(I live in the adirondacks so in the mountains it can spotty) I will look at the Nexus One and the Samsung a657 and and the blackberry, it would be cool if we could get the Iphone on verizon

I have Sprint and you can forget the Nextel part.. Had a phone that was strictly on the Nextel network. Boy talk about not getting a signal.. Not even in the DFW area.. Not to mention Nextel phones do not roam... Sprint is great, but not Nextel..

Uh oh! Google took the Nexus One for VZW off of its page.

A better phone is coming soon to VZW anyway. Look for the HTC Incredible. Awesome.
