There’s an ad on Indeed for this company located in Tifton Ga. It’s supposed to be local, and the hourly rate is advertised at $26.04, which is pretty good for this area. One of the reviews said they pay OT after 8 hours daily, so if there’s plenty of hours worked it could make for a pretty good living. I’d never heard of them before now, but did a search on them, and they seem to largely hire O/O’s, but the ad makes no mention of that ($26.04 is terrible in that case). There was also a thread on here not long ago.
TForce Freight
They require a hazmat/tanker endorsement, so I’m not sure what they haul. Many of the reviews on Indeed weren’t so good, but none of them were from this location. What do you all know about them as far as local positions are concerned?

Transforce is the largest carrier in Canada with a bunch of USA companies under their belt as well .. some regional jobs are great others suck I hear . I only know a few in Quebec that did local and they were steady all day.

Guys that I know who work for them in my area are happy. Lots of freight and decent pay.
I have never worked for them but as mentioned by Magoo1968, they own alot of companies throughout North America.
I imagine like any other large carrier it varies between locations as to what working for them is like. -
When I was doing LTL linehaul (a different company) I was paid by the mile for driving (actually a few miles more than I actually drove, since they rounded up, sometimes generously, between their terminal locations), and hourly for non-driving such as fueling, dropping, hooking, building and breaking sets of doubles, and time working the dock. The time I spent driving didn't count toward my weekly hours worked, so I never got OT even though I was putting in 60+ hour weeks. Still, the pay wasn't bad for a rookie driver.Zonno Thanks this. -
Used to be UPS freight. LTL outfit. It's a good job

Union job. A bunch of guys from Yellow went there

It's Overnite, sold back to TFI by UPS about a decade ago.. UPS still owns their old terminal like the one on 40 in Conover, NC.. Overnite was known for massive and violent strikes; same owners..
Dirty beat up equipment like Yellow and Overnite had, and they don't advertise pay so it's probably $1,200 a week after taxes. They will be selling again..
FYI Teamsters do nothing for drivers besides keeping them from getting fired without a hearing..Last edited: Oct 13, 2024
