US-287 at Leila Lake, Texas south of Amarillo today. I got pulled over by Texas Public Safety and given a written warning for Speeding Over Limit. Neither the officer nor the warning say exactly how fast I was traveling. Anyways, I didn't argue it. The warning I got says "No penalty assessed. No further action required. Does not become part of your driving record."
There was no DOT inspection. Is it going on my PSP or not? Just making sure.

Im pretty sure someone somewhere will sit up in the mounds of paperwork in your company and start furiously writing damning data into your pernament record etc.
Just teasing.
I don't think you have to worry about it. You can spend 10 bucks and do a background on yourself. There will contain everything you want.Mr Budeedee and IluvCATS Thank this. -

If you travel 287 this link will show you where you need to look out. -
I wouldn't worry about it. I've got warnings by Tx DPS and never told my company. My driving record doesn't show anything and I never heard anything more about it.

Got TX warning for FAILED TO MAINTAIN SINGLE LANE
Don't know what to do with this. -
Was it on one of those Driver/Vehicle Inspection DOT forms? If so it will be what they call a dirty inspection which will show up on your PSP report and your company's CSA points.
With the ELD mandate coming down DOT officers won't be able to write Logbook tickets any more so they are searching the green book for other easy pickin's tickets to write.Landincoldfire, LoneCowboy, SingingWolf and 1 other person Thank this. -
Generally speaking the only way for you a Truck driver to get data on you sent to the feds is when a DOT/CVSA/MCSAP certified officer fills out a North American Standard Inspection on you. Gives it to you to sign and if a violation is found your company has so many days to certify corrective action has been done and it is returned to the State by the company. A general Speeding ticket issued by a general speed cop will not get reported to the feds. Rest easy hand and slow that thing down!

Well I got another one of these Texas warnings today. This time north of Del Rio on the 277 northbound. It was 55 MPH and I swear I was doing 58 max. He said I was speeding but don’t think he even clocked me officially. No biggie. These Texas warnings are just an excuse to see if you have a warrant or act suspicious. Which I’m not.

If there’s no inspection they mean nothing. I got a warning for doing 75 in a 55 heading to the yard about 5 months ago. Also for rolling through a stop sign that was actually a yield sign and I didn’t argue for the sake of keeping it a warning. 99% of the time DOT in Texas let’s things go. They will hammer you in an inspection if they do one though. Also, I was just over that way... well, on I10 in Sonora... I’m in George West now, delivering in Corpus in the morning.

I got pulled over just after I went through Del Rio because the mudflaps on my trailer were "sailing in the wind". But the warning he wrote was on the tractor. He was really wanting to look at my dash and see if I had a bird dog. I didn't.
IluvCATS Thanks this.
