    Hey guys,
Anyone have any comments about this route? I'm on a tight delivery timeline, and the 300 miles or so on this route saves 80 miles. Is there a lot of stoplights, town traffic? Or a restrcited highway?

My trip is louisville, ky to Houston.

    thanks in advance! sb

Some 2 lane, and some 4 lane, but is THE route to take.

Just stay in the tracks of myself and others who have run it for half a lifetime.... you'll be just fine.

There ain't a thing in the world wrong with US 59 from Texarkana to Houston. I've run it many times. It's the shortest way and yeah there's some towns and lights but it's s 4 lane divided highway. I wouldn't consider going any other way but that's just me.

It's a valid truck route. It's pretty easy driving. There are some truck stops along the way and a couple rest areas. It's a good route to take.

thanks guys. ran it last night.

from the flyin j exit 7 texarkana at 740pm to cenral houston at 1am.

With one stop for the neccessities, and owning the limit! but those limits sure jump up at you on that route. A few without any warning. And more than a few blue lighters out last night.

    Thanks again, sb

I run 59 down to houston and back up almost every week and have a love-hate relationship with it. Love the straight shot and the time it saves, don't care for the sudden speed limit drops and absolutely hate the stoplights. After getting flashed a few times, once while the light was green(!), I now approach them a good 5-10 under and have still had to stand on the brakes a few times. Those buggers are quick!
