hey there new on the threads been doing alot of research and im pretty sure i want to take the path of a trucker. i qualify for a program that will pay for me to get my CDL and the closest places to me are. TDI in Rich burg ,SC or york tech in rock hill. TDI is quicker but i think i might get more one on one training with yorktech. anyone who has any experiences with either id like to get some feedback so i can make a more informed choice.

I can't help choose which school is best, but will give you some advice to help you in this new career.
Get all the endorsements plus passport and TWIC ID Card. These will give you more choices for good quality employment. Google for nearest TWIC office.
You will have dozens of companies to choose from with all these qualifications. Schools usually push 4 or 5 companies and call that "job placement", but you don't need their job placement really. You will learn of many job opportunities on this TTR forum.
Do you want coast to coast & border to border or regional? Do you want tankers, reefers, flatbed, van? All are available to new CDL grads from good schools.
Don't wait until graduation to submit applications. You can sit at your computer and apply online. Do this during the first week of school then you have plenty of time to sift through the job offers. Job offers will be contingent upon you graduating from school and having the necessary qualifications such as endorsements, TWIC, passport by the time you report to orientation.
    Best wishes.

The one on one time will be more at one place simply because the course is longer. I went with TDI in Richburg and got all the reps I wanted in. I also ended up going to a company that doesn't recruit from there but will take graduates.

All the companies are all the bottom feeders except a few. I work for Averitt and they don't recruit out of there but they hire TDI graduates. Hadden House right down the road I heard was taking new drivers with great benefits and home only out 3 days at a time but double check I think most all of their runs are up North where the company HQ is.

Not all are bottom feeders. There's some excellent companies to choose from that don't recruit at CDL schools. Abilene Motor Express and Waggoners Trucking Company are just two examples of a couple dozen.

I meant bottom feeder recruiters are the only ones who recruit from there. Hadden House is a good local company around our way.

Can't find much on the drivers at Hadden House. Here's one post I found and looks like the drivers first driving job. Maybe they hire new CDL grads.

Given a good chance as a beginning driver to break into the industry. Had consistent routes with a couple of overnights. Good equipment.

any companies that i would get me home at least every weekend pay is not the biggest factor. im looking more for a place where i can be comfortable that's my number one thing for any job i work for. Im a team player and i don't gripe much but i treat you right you treat me right that's all i ask.
