yes indeed I have been putting the ez pass off for a while. Maybe it'll be one of my 2015 additions. They (ez pass) should have a website with all the toll fees listed in that region out thru PA etc... Well, would be convenient at least... Maybe someone does I don't know. But thanks for your response 👌

Doesn't I95 south nail you with the toll just south of the CT border?

One way or another you have to pay a toll leaving CT. I'm not sure of the price leaving CT as I will go through TZBridge both ways. Unless you absolutely have to go into NYC, I'd go the TZBridge route since there is MUCH less traffic and I'm sure the toll is cheaper.

Well leaving NJ if you go 287 to 202S (x after 78W) to 31S to 95 south, or 17N into NY is also free. Otherwise you're spot on!

The Tappen Zee carries 87 south and 287 North in one direction and 87 North and 287 south in the other direction, that is the confusion on the tolled direction. I usually run up to 84 and across the beacon newburgh bridge, 12.50 for 5 axle and 7.10 for the 87 toll from 87/287 split.

So, what about the garden state parkway then (north/south) (US/NJ-17) ? That's a toll right ? So after I leave Lyndhurst, I would need to take 17 up to 287 then across the tappan zee bridge. Now, this would only add 10 miles to my route to Greenwich, ct but will the extra tolls I pay going up 17 still be worth it, or would it come out the same crossing the GW?...

Can't take the garden state at that point only south of route 18.

some definite misinformation on this thread.

    no tolls leaving ct.

ct 95 south you can run to Philly no tolls w minor detour. I95 north toll at GW bridge, also toll in new Rochelle just past exit 16. $8 last time I looked at an ezpass statement. Free beyond that. Tappan zee via 17North to 287 East across the bridge is lots cheaper than hitting GW. Few miles further yes, worth it as well. Less traffic and lower tolls.

287 west just past the parkway exit is tolled for trucks only. I don't recall how much. Then tolled again if you continue onto 87 north.

hers the deal, its 40 miles from Lyndhurst to Greenwich,ct going across the gw and little ove 100 bucks toll. its 81 miles leaving Lyndhurst out to 287 and across the tappan zee, down 287 to 95 to Greenwich.

so ya got either got 40 miles it really might depend on what time schedule you are on and when you are dropping in lyndhurst

then 95 to 395 and into Worchester

going up 81 to 84 would be going around your elbow to get somewhere else, the fuel loss from hill pulling would negate any toll savings
