Take the CDL practice test at the top of the page.

Its not to bad just read the study guide until you understand it , then after you get it and actually drive a tank you will then understand what it was talking about , just take your time they ain't to bad , the modern tanks are fairly well baffled so that helps alot

Tanker endorsement test is the same as any other multiple choice driving test. Two completely ridiculously stupid answers to the question that obviously are wrong, one answer that is wrong, and one right answer
example question on a driving test
what do you do at a red light?
A) blow right through it immediately
B) Slow down slightly, look both ways, then blow through the intersection
C) slam on your breaks as hard as possible immediately
D) apply gentle pressure to the brake pedal and come to a nice easy stop
Tanker questions won't be too much different in their level of stupidity. Two answers will be so stupid, and then you choose the best answer out of the other two.
Then there's the "all of the above" answers. If more than one of the A B and C options are correct, it's definitely all of the above.
etc etc
Read through the tanker section in the CDL book a bunch of times over and over, take the sample test on here, you're home free.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
I just took mine a couple weeks ago when i renewed my DL... For Indiana it was 20 questions... I believe you can only miss 4... The pages covering it in the CDL guide manual was only 2 pages... Just ready it right before you go in the DMV and you should do fine... Just make sure you know about baffuels and surge...

It is easy dont over think it. Just read and understand the cdl manual and you will be fine. The section covering tankers (at least in Louisiana) isnt very long only a fee pages I do beleive. Also they have practice test on here that help alot too.

I've taken it in Tx and in Arkansas. I think it was @ 25 questions but I don't really know. It's on computer and as soon as I got enough correct answers to pass, the test ended without me having to see all the questions. As was recommended above, study the cdl manual and you should be ok.
-
I heard it's simple. You study a few pages. Take a few practice tests to see where you're at. 20 questions I've heard, you can miss up to 4, 5+ no beuno.

As others have said, very easy test. Just read the manual, make sure you understand about surge, and baffles, what to do when going through a curve, etc...took IN test and passed easily. 20 questions was correct, don't know how many you could miss.... the only one I didn't pass without reading on was the hazmat, since I was waiting they let me take all the endorsement tests... LOL, first question on hazmat, and knew I wouldn't pass... only because I didn't know some of the identifications on hazmat... only missed by one, next day after studying for about 30 minutes, went in and passed that one as well...
The only thing I noticed on my tests (think they have several variations of each endorsement test), was sometimes the wording was different on the test from the cdl manual, and required a different answer... if you don't read the ENTIRE question, and ASSUME it was as the manual presented it, then you may be incorrect, make sure to read the entire question and understand what they are asking about.... good luck -
GWIZ2260 Thanks this.
