Are they really worth the money?
Do they stop the diesel stains running down your tanks?
I'm on my second set of standard oem caps I got from peterbilt. After about 2 years the #### things start leaking through the stem and vent. Wanting to polish up my tanks but don't won't to until I can stop the fuel stains. And i don't want to keep buying #### fuel caps.
I looked at the oems but don't see where you can relpace the seals in them.
Anyone know where to get any other good quality Fuel Tank Caps for a Pete?

I'm really more interested in stopping the fuel stains than I am anti theft.
-
Is every two years really that frequent?
-
Is it to much to ask to want to buy something that lasts. -
The reason i ask is i have vented tanks and its stamped on them saying not to fill past 90%, and when i did the caps sometimes had leaked, just a thought.
I am interested in the Talon caps too. -
-
Well a few months back I orderrd the talon tight caps.
They are great caps. I love that you can lock them without the key.
But unfortunately they dont stop the fuel from running diwn the tanks.
Fuel gets into the cap and then when you unscrew them it leaks out and down the tank.
Back to the drawing board I guess. -
I know exactly what your talking about. I like to keep my tanks polished up nice and clean and then after awhile you get the dreaded fuel stain running down the tank. I just polished up my truck and what I am going to try is clean up and sand the lip where the fuel cap goes and see if that helps any. I do see nicks on it from putting in the fuel nozzle from time to time. Some are deep enough that I think the o-ring can't seal it. You might want to try that.

Yeah I tried that. Filed them down and sanded them nice and smooth.
The oem fuel caps start leaking through the spring stem after about a year. So I decided to try the talon tights. With Petes you gotta use thier adaptor. It works gpod and doesnt leak around that or the cap seal itself. But once you take the cap off the fuel that was splashed up into the cap during movement runs out of the cap and down the tank.
I emailed the manufacturer before buying them and they said the didnt have issues with them leaking. So thats why I gave them a shot.
The lady that emauled me nack had mentioned something about a boot for them if there is a problem. So im going to email them back and see about the boots.Juicehauler Thanks this. -
Well the lady emailed me back.
She is sending me a pair of boots. Dont know how they work yet. But well see how it goes.SAR Thanks this.
