I pull hopper and I always come out heavy on my drives. I have a spread axle trailer and I can never get the rear axles to take much weight putting me up to 37k to 40k on my drives. In Kansas we can run 85,500# off the interstate. I've been debating the idea of getting a tandem axle trailer and adding a tag in front of my drives. With a single wheel tag added in front of my drives does anyone know what kind of weight I can haul? I currently have a 240" wheel base.

42k on the drives with the tag down. The rest is going to all depend on the bridge measurements.

I guess I will have to see total axle length to get the bridge formula. Thanks a bunch.

I don't mean to be a grammar nazi, but a tag axle is behind the drive axle, a pusher is in front of the drive axle. It's called a "tag" axle because it tags along, or follows.

Well some people call a steering wheel holder a professional driver but you know what they are talking about. Besides, have you never seen a truck with a tag axle behind the drives? I have several times.
