TA Truckstop in Jessup MD

Well, if you want to post videos okay but I would first go through the proper channels at least once and see what happens to your concerns.

 

In terms of cleaning the place up, I have seen Howard County (Md.) cops out there patrolling the parking lot and once inside the lobby.

I did see once, a posse of Maryland State troopers follow someone into the drivers theatre and make an arrest in the hallway. There is a state trooper barracks on Route 1, Washington Blvd. about two miles northwest from the TA Jessup, MD.

Another consideration about this truck stop... location, location, location. It's the only one closet to Washington, DC. Others are Carlisle, PA; Clear Brook/Winchester, VA; Carmel Church/Ruther Glen, VA and Inner Harbor, Baltimore, MD.

 

There is a TA just north of DC on 95 couple miles past the welcome center. Is a State Hwy about a mile or 2 east of there. (paid parking) Can't remember the hwy would have to look at a map. One of the roads that goes to ft meade

 

That's the TA that everyone is talking about ... Jessup, MD is about six miles north of the Maryland Welcome Center which is just above Laurel, MD on Interstate 95. The state highway is Route 175, Dorsey Road. The paid parking is Idle Aire. Fort Meade is east/southeast from the TA.

Another way of saying what I did mention about "location, location, location" is that if this TA (Jessup, MD) was not there, then, the only other truck stops nearest to Washington, DC are actually abit of a ways away.

Since some people don't like the eats at the Country Market Restuarant at that particular TA, about six miles east is a Golden Corral Restuarant on the perimeter ring road of Arundel Mills Mall, southwest of the corner of Route 100 and Arundel Mills Blvd.

The only problem is that I get some dots going round and round in a clockwise fashion. I guess that means the video is loading but it runs for a few seconds and then that symbol starts over again, a few seconds of play and then that symbol repeats, etc.

 

Not the same one I was thinking of. Years ago I stopped at jessup and I am pretty sure this is not the same one.

Well, it was an independent truck stop way back when, it was called "the Truckers' Inn" but then TA bought them out and included this particular facility in the nationwide chain of TA truck stops. Exactly what year the change was made in ownership, I don't know but I think it may been 1997.

Same location, differnt name sounds like to me.

So, I think you probably last visited when it was at the end of its independent truck stop status or when it first became a Travel Centers of America franchise.

Yep, many people think that the TA Jessup, MD is still a hole. Ditto for the lot lizards but I think the Howard County police and the Maryland State Police are trying to clean that problem up along with drug sales, etc.

I think that some drivers are going there to fuel up, shower, etc. and then parking behind the Vitamin Shoppe along the Arundel Mills Mall perimeter ring road. This about four miles away from BWI-Marshall Airport.
