No big loss. That place was always a dump.

Most people that are replying missed the reply from SSB. It was quoted on TA's site that it is closing, being torn down and completely rebuilt. They are not abandoning this place. At least not yet.

I can't find it but I read an article today that they are closing that site down and renaming the Baldwin, fl stop for the lady that the Nashville stop is dedicated to. They will not be rebuilding there.

I regret not stopping there with my now wife when she wanted to stop and go check out Nashville before we had kids. The load could have waited.

I'll stand corrected drivers. After trying to find any additional information on a rebuild all I can find out is a total rebuild of that area and probably for the new NFL Titans stadium. It seems that because of the BP buyout of TA that they would rebuild it but more than likely will take the money from the sale and run.

    D.Tibbitt, drvrtech77 and kemosabi49 Thank this.

I remember sitting in the drivers lounge some yrs back. I think in 2011, and this guy comes in and says. "I just want to tell yall to be careful, a driver just got robbed in the lot."

So we are all kinda looking like wtf? Well sure enough the guy that got robbed came in after the police got his info and story. Then he told us what happened. And everyone in there was saying how robberies were more expected at the downtown TA. But not the Antioch TA.

I haven't been to that TA in a while. But the prices at Popeyes keeps me away not the robbers in the lot. The Popeyes cashier robs ppl without any weapons!

On another note, I wonder how long it will be. Before the media starts to report on the shortage of parking for trucks??? Between the closed rest areas. And burned down, gone out of business, or just closed down truck stops. There sure is a shortage of safe havens out here.

Will the media report on parking shortage like they report about a driver shortage?

I was lucky never to have been robbed whenever I stopped there. Very seldom that I did, because I used to live in Murfreesboro. Still have kids and family there so I don't even entertain going to Nashville much anymore. I could be wrong but I think the media has somewhat talked about that. It seems like I've seen videos on parking shortages. It don't matter how many truck stops get built on I-24, it'll never be enough parking. It's way too busy of an Interstate. Then you get all the Florida and Georgia traffic coming up that way. It's just a mess.
