I had to remove the mattress and unscrew the aluminum panel over the center section. the blower motor, ac evaporator and heater core are all in a nice little package.Good luck.

I had to replace heater control valve from under the bunks about few years. Also added diesel bunk heater. But now, parked the truck throughout summer because there is no point hauling cheap freight. Rates are falling and they paid less than dollar a mile. What else I can find jobs to keep our t600 running and put some $ for family?

This is nice little package. everything is mounted together. there is four bolts that come thru the floor. nuts and washers on the outside. remove the water hoses and ac lines, then you can clean both cores and check the heater control valve for leaks. bad news is the bottom of the housing is probably gonna be rusted out. make sure you have a couple of days to devote to this. you might check around, I found a complete unit online when I was messing with mine about 5 years ago for around 500$. may sound high but for what you get, its a god deal.

The blower motor works just fine. But I pulled the panel and the switch looks like it #### near caught on fire. I suppose the switch being bad is my culprit? All the fuses were good. #### thing looks like it could have started a fire. I didn't smell anything when it happened. I climbed in the bunk and switched the fan from low to high speed and heard something then air quit coming out the vents. What the hell? Should I replace that harness connection to or just plug a new switch in and call it good?

You can replace harness or if you have enough slack use blade connectors.
If you strip the insulation back on the wire that got hot, you'll probably find its charred for a couple inches.

there should be a resistor in the back a/c heater box. change it and that will cure that melted plug problem. it could also be that the motor was dragging from wear. making the plug heat up. I tore mine apart this past winter to see why it wasn't blowing much air. dang thing was completely rotted out. a new box from kw was $1200 ! worth every penny. I can make ice cubes now!!!

Everything is in good shape. No rot. The condensor looks fine. Good call on the resistor. Didn't think of that but had to replace it for the cab a/c before. I'll just get a new switch, resistor, and motor then be done with it.
