Sysco?

I posted this in another thread. I am not talking about Sysco themselves in that post, but it is basically the same thing:

 

Hi futbol, Sysco is a very good company, but just be ready to work your butt off. They handle everything from food products to wisk brooms. I used to pick up Sysco products in a RR container in Fond du lac, Wis. and it would take them all day to load, and they had like a million different products on the trailer. I just dropped it at the rail yard in Chicago, but thought what it would be like to actually unload that thing. Lots of alley deliveries, restaurants, and such. Good luck.

I delivery milk same deal. Im 45 and it keeps my heart in healthy shape. I've seen lots of drivers come on go. Most don't realize how much physical work is involved and then on top of that deal with Walmart receivers.

 

never worked for them but I did talk to them about driving. the guy basically said you're gonna work up to 12 hr a day but can make 77K a year. I have noticed around here when sysco jobs come avail they are gone fast. they do not come avail very often.

 

Sysco, PFG, Rehienhart(sp?) and a few others that handle food deliveries, you will hump freight all day long. You will go into tight alleys, and shopping malls. You will be tired at the end of the day, and the next day, you get to do it all over again. I know of someone that works at Sysco, they have to work the eve of a major holiday, and often the holidays it self. Of course you will get paid for it, but it'll "seem like" you don't get any time off.

I personally know of drivers with Rheinhart(sp?) that if you have even the slightest of all incidents, like scratching the bumper or trailer, they get fired, and this is especially true of new drivers right out of school!

Hi G, I thought Reinhart was a good company too, but recently connected with an old friend who worked for a short time for them, and he told me to stay away.

True, Reinhart bought out (here) Agar, and just carried over Agar's firing policies for even the smallest of things, like for instance, as told to me by the Penske mechanic, a driver had a trailer that had previous damage. the driver DID NOT Cover his butt, and DID NOT write it up on the DVIR. Another driver took that trailer the next, saw the damage and wrote it up. First driver, fired on the spot, for damaging the trailer!
