Hi all! I have a question for Sysco drivers or past drivers that have gone through the hiring process. Sysco is hiring for drivers in a smaller town in Northern Arizona. I applied and about 2 weeks later I get a call for a phone interview. While talking to the lady through the process she said that they were looking for multiple drivers to start by the 14th of April. The phone interview took place the beginning of April. I still have not received a call from them. So I start looking for more job openings on Craigslist. I find an ad about food delivery drivers in the same town from Sysco. Is this typical of Sysco to do or are they having a hard time getting applications? The ad on the Sysco website has been up since about the 14th of March. Is Sysco getting that bad of a reputation or is the hiring process that slow? I haven't done food delivery but I have done routes and figured that this would be an easier transition. Any thoughts?

Call her back and follow up on your previous conversation in a professional manner. Sysco/US Foods use temp agencies to fill positions which might explain the other ad you saw.
lastrayden, Puppage and pattyj Thank this. -
I'll do that! I'm not the most patient person but we will see if she says anything. I'd be pretty happy to get this job and the experience. I have read a lot about Sysco and think I would enjoy it for a while anyway. Just as long as they give me my money.
pattyj Thanks this. -
Yes it is there way.they run ads and use billboards even when not looking.

Thanks powder joints. Good to know.

Takes awhile now, all of the hiring has to go through Houston(Corporate Office), hiring used to be handled at each warehouse. the process can take up to a couple months now.
-
Sysco is always hiring, they can not keep drivers at all. Not real a big surprise when you stop and think anout why.
-
Actually with corporate handling the hiring now they just keep redoing the ads even when we don't really need ppl. They want you to have 200ppl for 100ppl job lmao
-
They need ppl constantly cause not many ppl would think they'd be delivering a 28-48 ft trailer up to 1000 cases a day a real desirable job. Then they say your home everyday though. Working 12-14hrs a day starting at 2-3am really isn't a life. Only good is the weekends off and the pay. Ppl get CDLS cause it's good pay and less physical work. Which why I got a CDL. Not saying I worked at SySco (US Foods) but they are all the same.

yea u right. But 800-100casea isn't bad. I work in the warehouse n throw 25-3000 every night
Youngtrucker91 and Radman Thank this.
