Found out today in class that SWIFT TRAINING Academy in Millington TN pays you your state min wage plus one dollar for all driving miles (you drive) with your trainer and just min wage for any other duty on the truck while out with driver "says it better for us"?:biggrin_2559:

I made a flat $350/wk while training. How much exactly are you expecting to be paid?

Swift is the better starter company. They have decent programs in place for new drivers there. If I was starting, that's where I would go. That or Millis.

    +1

If I was starting out wanting to do Regional / OTR, I'd go to SNI Bulk.

    100% Sincere.

A lot of start companies are paying $500+ a week. I've seen 1 pay $400 and another pay $350, which I avoid like the plague.
I'm going to try and get into SNI Bulk also.

$7 x 70 hours a week = $490. Sad, but what can you do. Not to mention, your forced to spend it with a stranger on your off time.

Edit: This is "orientation" training, not training for CDL. If the OP is going to school, minimum wage to get a CDL is dam good money... I had to pay $5 grand and all my expenses for my "certificate"

Its not sad, you either have to pay for training to get your CDL or train with a company - what do you guys expect, free training?
