Swift if you have your permit already do you come home to get the actual cdl-a

Don't know for sure but most companies require that your cdl be from the state you reside. I THINK, if you test with them in a different state you would come back to Alabama and get it switched to Alabama license. Probably if you go out with the trainer they will require you to be licensed first with your state or not.

 

Once done with training, you'll get a temp paper CDL ,once you get home you'll take it to local DMV, for picture and regular CDL license , no need for any other testing

 

No your Alabama permit will stay the same, Swift school are licensed to do all test for obtaining your CDL, they will give you the proper paper work to bring to the DMV, the DMV will take your picture, and give your your CDL from your state
