Can I just unbolt the square cab lights on my 1997 379 and replace them with the bullet style? Or do they need new mounting holes?

Need new mounting holes, but a friend and I changed in about an hour. What a change! The truck looked 1000 times better with bullet.
Cottonmouth85 Thanks this. -
Yup, the front holes work, the back ones... not so much. Get yourself a tube of clear drying caulk while you're up there and be careful drilling that fiberglass.

My roof cap is aluminum. So use the front mounting holes and drill new ones for rear?

Silicone will eventually fail, I would glass or bondo and paint the old holes.

I'm going to jb weld the holes left and the holes for the air horns. Adding 2 cab lights as well. I have read a few people did the jb weld and then body work and paint. Since most of the paint is gone on my roof anyways.

If you are going to body work it use automotive epoxy if you are just going to fix up for now I would use seam sealer or a quality exterior silicone that is uv protected. I would silicone under the the lights were the wires come through the roof cap.always do it from the top side to make sure it keeps the water out.

This is a project that's on my to do list as well. Do any of you know which lights are the absolute brightest? There seems to be a couple of styles, with varying number of led's.
Thank you. -
I haven't been too big on the led cab lights. I always liked watermelon glass lense with an 1157 bulb. But that was 15 years ago.
