Hi, guys hope you can help me before I start calling in morning to FL.
was driving through SD and got pulled into a weight station, there they told me my CDL is expired as of 6/16/2016 at 10pm so they wont let me leave. That was today 6/16 at 17:00.
This made no sense to me because my license doesn't expire until September of 2018. I didn't get any notifications and everything was in order.
Only one thing happened, I was late with renewing my medical card so i had to do self verification online, but I got it done in time that Florida specified for me to get them a new medical card. that was back on Tuesday 6/14/2016. I even called into one of their BVM branches and a representative checked it out for me and verified that I was good to go and no problems, I also got an email verification one I got approved.
So today after I got pulled over and told my CDL is expired, I went online to the Florida CDL medical self certification system just like I did on Tuesday. The thing is on Tuesday and Wednesday it showed that I was approved. Today i checked and it said that "Our records indicate that you do not have a Florida Commercial Driver License"
So i searched farther, I went to Florida Driver License Check and it said on the website
"As of Jun 16, 2016, at 10:02 PM driver license number xxxxxxxxxxxxxx IS EXPIRED.
This license is a Class A. Restrictions are (NONE ON RECORD). Endorsements are (NONE ON RECORD). Motorcycle endorsements are (NONE ON RECORD)."This makes no sense! no warning, no reason what so ever why this might have happened. The only reason I can think of is the medical card, but I got the fixed and FL verified it was all good. And if they saw that my CDL would be expiring in couple days, they should have told me that. Because on my CDL card it showed to expire in Sep.
Please help. What can I do here?
suspended license/expired in FL?

There have been recent reports of licenses being "suspended/revoked" out of several states (fairly certain FL is included) due to improper or unauthorized 3rd party certification from different truck schools and examiners. You could be part of this mess. Call in the morning to FL DMV and get the straight story...you should check and see if your license was "reduced" back to a regular license.
miket11 and TaylorMade407 Thank this. -
Yup 3 buddies of mine had to go retest for their cdl because the person who originally tested them wasn't actually certified. They went 5,4, and 2 years no issues until last year when they got the notice in the mail. This was FL also

Hey guys. Thank you for your input.
I called FL today and they fixed the problem. I asked what caused this and they gave me an explanation that made no sense. Something to do with CDL being transfered from state to state while you drive, and that it was not transferred back to FL and thus it "magically" expired.....
Well 18 hours held up at the weight station, aimlessly wasted fuel in that hot weather and got a citation written for expired license. Which of course none of us can go to SD to fight because I'm sure I'll be on other side of the country when court day comes. So I guess here you go SD free check from me to you for $200.
LOL.
Thanks again guys, have a great day.otherhalftw Thanks this. -
