Stay away from Super Service. They run their drivers to empty, then reprimand them for running out of fuel. If a driver stops at an undesignated fuel stop, the cost of the fuel is taken out of their pay check. They will also run drivers as much as 80 miles out of route for a fuel stop.

I feel for people dealing with that stupid fuel routing. But, both the driver and dispatcher has to understand it is not a perfect system. Therefore you have to work the system. Now it's been three plus years since I had to deal with it, but this is what I did. I rolled with what they suggest then in route I would call and say this is not going to make it. I am in town XXX and have 50 gals. Please rework the fuel plan. Be unyielding. Out of fuel is ALWAYS blamed on the driver. Do everything possible to prevent that situation.

He does tell the dispatcher when he is low on fuel. He gets a reply of ''YOU GET 7 MPG, you can make it to the designated fuel stop...and then he runs out before he gets there.

He only has 6 more weeks until he gets the rest of his bonus. He is looking for a better company to drive for. He used to drive for Trans Am...now that was a joke! He was leasing the truck and ended up owing them 2 grand every week.

IMO his dispatcher is an idiot. It costs the company $$ for running out of fuel. I wonder if the maintenance director knows about this situation?

To set the record straight, Super Service does NOT run you out of fuel or charge you back if you stop at an unassigned fuel stop. If you're low on fuel and can't make it to the next fuel stop, you let them know and they'll give you another fuel stop. If the routing asks you to go very far out of route, you call them or send a message and they'll give you closer fuel stop. In some cases, you can suggest a fuel stop and they'll authorize it. If you run dedicated, you can stop at any Pilot, Flying J or Loves to fuel.

Gainey was bought out by someone else, who then changed the name to Super Service. Why continue to call the company Gainey, if he no longer owns it? Gainey's son later started up Sunset Logistics and has a terminal across the street from Super Service in Grand Rapids.

I always thought that Harvey Gainey bought several trucking companies and had them all under the Gainey umbrella.
He bought Sunrise USA out of Ft Wayne IN, he bought Lester Coggins, Areo Bulk, and Super Service. He allowed all of these companies to keep their names. So even though Harvey Gainey owned Super Service, he allowed them to keep their name. This was back in the 90's
