Well, I didnt hear from anyone. So i just sent in the app. We shall see!
-
my friend ust to work there but he got fired for mixing the wrong fuel together. He said it was good though that the equipment was in real good shape and that the pay was good. He said they will work you until the legal limit there! Its good I guess since they pay by the hour. Benefits I dont know I have to ask him. Did you get hired how is it?
-
Has anyone here actually worked at suncoast? And know what its like to work there? Like the pay, schedule and benefits? I see alot of people replying but no one has actually worked there.
-
I worked there. Decent pay, good benefits and they will work you 14 hours a day. Trucks and trailers are old and worn out unless you work in Houston. Only reason I left is they have a buddy system going on in dispatch and my dispatcher loved to throw people under the bus and always try to work you over your 14. If it wasn't for her I would still be there. Good thing is she is not there anymore.
I do know a few years ago they had a terminal in OK and one morning the drivers showed up for work and all the trucks were gone, they pulled the plug up there and did not tell the drivers, happened to a friend of mine that I worked with in DFW that moved to Ok to work for them. Steer clear of the Suncoast politics and you will do fine. -
I had 10 years fuel hauling exp. and 31 loading cards and they only started me at $17 per hour in DFW and I thought that was pretty low but I put in a lot of overtime to make it work. Schedule is 5 am to 5 pm and we worked a 5-2 5-3 schedule. Don't plan on having many weekends off, it was nice having 3 days off every other week.

#### thats way too much experience for 17 an hour. Shoot I have 1 year and the recruiter just told me she would start me at 18 and I thought that was low. For a tanker it should be atleast 20 or minimum 19. But she did say I would be working 12-14 hours a day. A conn is u wont get many weekends off and withbeing a huge football fan I dont think this job is for me.

I talked to one of their driver yesterday he assured me that even though the hiring pay is on the lower side u do make tons of overtime and its paid over 40 hours! They insurance seemed kinda high but I guess its always gna be high driving a tanker. There are many different schedules. He was in a rental but even that was a nice peterbilt. I already put in my app I hope they give me a call. Has anyone worked in the Houston location?

I spoke with a driver a couple weeks ago, he was home in El Paso spending time with the family, but was fueling in the Permian Basin (Midland). He said pay was $22/hr there and you would get all the overtime you legally could run. His average take-home was $3500 every 2 weeks, and doing the math myself, this works out.
This was the exact position I was thinking about for when I retire from the Army next year. I already have my CDL A w/NPT, took the HAZMAT but haven't paid for the printing and background yet (waiting until closer to retirement in order to have more useful life out of it).
Anyone else work the oilfield fueling side for Suncoast?
