It looks like Ill be spending the night here. Does any one know the area around exit 11 off I55? Specifically, McLemore ave leading to the Hershey plant? Is this a pretty safe area or is bad?
Ill go to W.Memphis truck stops if this is a bad area. TIA

If it's close enough, the Pilot on US 78 in Memphis (corner of Shelby and US 78 ) is not bad according to my hubby. He's been down there before.

There may be some others in with some suggestions soon too.

I have stayed in W. Memphis 2 times. and both time I had no trouble. There is an access rd across from the petro. Find the Mcdonalds, they have truck parking. shut down there and it keeps you out of the truckstops. You have the mcdonalds for food and rest rooms and after hours the main petro building isnt a far walk.

    you'll be fine.

On the way here (I40W), I held short at the Stanton, TN Pilot since I made a promise to myself to avoid taking my 10 in ANY large city if possible. Ive never been to the Pilots on US78 or the ones Rick mentions. This area is old with a bunch of vacant buildings. To me, this sounds like a opportune area for crime, but you never know...it might be safe. Ive spent the night on side streets in Long Island w/o problems.
I have been to the W.Memphis Pilot and other than one fool trying to sell me a womans necklace, I had no problems. Im leaning towards going there(also have 1 shower credit).

Any Schnieder drivers? You have a terminal/drop yard here.

BTW, no ld tonight. Just got the QC message. *sigh*

We have a yard down the street from the petro in W. Memphis. I've never had a problem staying at the t/s in W.Memphis. I haven't been to the pilots on 78 in a while but woul not recommend them

It will be interesting to hear how it is in W. Memphis. I've heard nothing but bad stuff about W. Memphis.
