Lets see your strobe light setup for those O/D loads. I have a light on the top of my headache rack that retracts up/down as needed. I was thinking about installing some amber lights inside the grille on the hood of the truck as well. Not sure what to do on the trailer.

You can make a plug in that uses the tag light plug in on trailer with a cord thats as long as you need and will keep the tag light working?

And Illinois. And be mindful, the rules change the bigger the load gets. Certain states will have rules requiring either lights on the trailer OR a pilot car. That's a no brainer.

and Ga requires an amber light permit, as does NV

I currently have an led strobe on the top of the sleeper that the company provided. I run this cash bar which I highly recommend. It is ridiculously bright and it will light up signs IN FRONT of my front pilot cars, overpowering their overhead light bars.
8 Module Streamlined Arrowstick
On the new truck I’m going to run one of these light bars mounted off the headache rack above the sleeper. My main pilot cars have 8 of these bars, some with 400k miles on them with no issues. They are even marked down to 239 from the 400 that I paid.
59" Streamlined Ultra Slim GEN 3.5 LED lightbar
Then I will have some fienix fusion leds on the bumper and in the breathers.
Fusion Surface Mount LED
I believe lights at multiple levels is best for attracting attention.
