Just food for thought if we striked homeland security could arrest every one involved underneath the patriot act as economic terrorism but don't take my word for it research on Internet

Where would they impound 3 million trucks at or house 3 million drivers at? Bumpy's right, you can't get more than three truckers to agree, so it'll never happen. They'll argue with the cop.... You can't arrest me..... click, click! :)

The government we have in place today would put any form of insurrection or strike down swiftly and it would probably not allow the media to cover it.

Too many broke truckers to get a strike off the ground......

Striking would mean to stop running long enough for the repo man to find the truck!

Strike leaves a bad taste in alot of peoples mouths... but time off or vacationfor 3-4 days everybody would go for that. And would be long enough to get the message across. Just a thought.

You don't need to strike. You need to learn how to run a business. If you own a truck you should know how much it costs to operate it. If you own a truck you should not take any load that doesn't at least cover your costs, driver wages and some profit. Find all of your costs and establish a minimum haul rate and refuse any load that doesn't meet your minimum. That is all you have to do. You don't need to strike. A strike won't help someone learn how to operate a successful business. There are no guarantees when it comes to running a business. If it were that easy then everyone would be in business. Unless you understand and operate your business profitably you will go bankrupt or go out of business.

I don't need the government to protect me. I don't need a strike to help me operate at a profit. All I need do is raise my rates when fuel or other costs go up. If brokers or shippers don't want to pay the rate that I need, then I don't haul their freight. If enough owners refuse to haul their freight they will raise the rate in which they are willing to pay. Don't be afraid to deadhead out of a bad area. If you cannot afford to deadhead, then you are hauling too cheap. Don't waste your time trying to go on strike. Owner operators and carriers are businessmen. Companies don't go on strike.

Refuse loads that you know you will have to run illegal to get done, take your breaks and log it like you do it.

Dont drive 20 mph over the speed limit, dont wait 6 hours to get loaded or unloaded for pro bono.

Run it legal, then when productivity starts to fall off, maybe the powers that be will say, hey, we need to change something here and fast.

As long as gypsys will run all day all night for peanuts, wait for hours to get a load or unloaded a strike is a joke.

Theres way to many out here today that will do loads just to pay costs or pay for the fuel or to get home.

The big companies know this and so do all the brokers, so the answer my friend is blowing in the wind, or up someones skirt.
