Some of these spots guys have to back into are pretty tight for a cascadia. What do these guys in their 300- 400 in wheelbase petes do if a spot is too tight? Or is van/reefer just not recommended with those types of wheelbases?

I will not say I've never seen a large truck pull a refer trailer but the one I have were hauling specialized freight. I E Not food. So not going to food where houses. I pull a specialized refer trailer hauling special commodities usually medical equipment, art work or tools for a semi conductor company that needs to be climate controlled. A lot of our drivers do have long wheel base trucks usually no longer then 315". The places we go to are not usually tight. I can't imagine a large car doing produce. They could not handle the weight.
-
Well I would imagine those guys would know where they are going and don't worry much about it

There is a small outfit in Wa here that runs a couple long pete's and Kw's and I think 53'ers to Ca running produce so they are out there.
-
Most of them will tell you it's easier because the trailer is turning much slower.

Got a clown that drives on US23 and I see him every other day, he has such a huge gap between his sleeper and the reefer I wonder if there should be a regulation limiting it. I could put my Prius right between the truck and trailer and maybe have a couple feet to spare.
-
How does that make him a clown
His fuel bill. He is the one who has to back it up and turn the turns..
So unless he runs you off the road, why worry. You drive a Pirus and admit it..lolgoldwing-rider, Grubby, RedForeman and 33 others Thank this. -
Here we go.
Long FLD, ramblingman, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this. -
The guys that run those long wheelbase trucks generally know the customers they will easily fit at. Starting out in a truck like that you would have a heck of a time.
Anyone know the weight difference of 2 identical trucks and how much each extra foot of wheelbase adds to tare weight? Curious..Oxbow Thanks this. -
