not sure if i'm posting this in the right section mods please move if needed.

ok guys and gals i need some advice. I'm looking to rip my muffler off and go with true straight pipes but after talking to the owner of my company certain states dont like that so much.

my question is what can i put under the truck pictured below to give her that straight pipe bark with out all the unnecessary tickets that usually come along with ripping the muffler off...resonator (if so what brand & type?), hollowed out muffler???

boss's guidelines are as follows : Must be able to pass Connecticut and Colorado level 1 aside from that do what ever you want treat the truck as your own.

I dont want to turn this in to a "why are u spending on money on a truck that's not urs or a loud pipes are just obscene argument thread" i'm just looking for some advice on what i can do or put under the truck so i'm still legal (even if it's by a fraction of a hair)

I'm looking to get a nice clean bark when i hit the jake and when i throttle up not some tin canny crappy sounding set up

    truck specs:

2001 peterbilt 379exhd 475hp single turbo cat motor with 6 inch straight stacks regular muffler underneath

PS I will NOT be running in to California so they're laws need not apply

Im running 7" straights with NO muffler. Been thru 2 level 1 inspections and pass each time without them mentioning anything about the straights. IF I was to get citied, I would stick a gutted out muffler under the cab. There's nothing like running straight's.

put a high flow muffler on. which is some what gutted out. gives little more noise.

straight pipes are going to be very loud. and jakes will be even louder. most states require muffled compression brakes. which means no straight pipe PERIOD.

you come rolling by my house in the middle of the night with no mufflers. i'm gonna shoot your arse.

So you want to sound like all the " bad **" Harley wannabees that trailer their bikes and ride a block to say can say they "rode". hmmmmm...you're 24 and pretending to be grown up. Hopefully you'll get it sooner rather than later that the more unnecessary noise you make, the harder the cops and laws are going to hit you.
    Good luck.

wow thanx mary but i love what i do, i like to look good doing it and i love straight pipes always have. oh and i used to ride all the time when i had my bike as a daily driver 30* outside rode to work rode in the rain numerous times so how does that make me a wanna be? also how would trailering my bike (btw i never have) have any bearing on my original post.
