So many stolen cars and trucks in Houston end up quickly moved out of town.
Not sure if it’s inside job or what. When I was a military investigator we had a gang of airmen on base who were moonlighting as burglars. They were pretty elaborate. They would get electronic codes simply by being parked across the street at a certain angle with Binoculars where they would be able to see someone punching in the code. There are also often codes given to police and fire for apartments/business parks gates and sometimes that info gets out.Sirscrapntruckalot, Blue jeans, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this. -
And this here is why i have a kill switch in my pete and a secondary gps tracker in the trailer far enough back that most GPS jammers wont get it too. Also why i changed all the doorlocks to a much better shim proof system (yay locksmith friend!). Geanted it wont prevent a really determined thief but itll make getting into it much less getting it moving enough of a pain most will pass on it. Seeing this though im debateing getting the passcode to start system installed as well.
On the other hand though if this truck was this guys livelyhood wont his insurance cover it? I cant imagine they wont give him at least enough to do a sizeable down payment on a new truck and trailer if not replace them outright.mtoo, Blue jeans and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
somebody knew what they were doing. Sounds rotten as heck, ESPECIALLY in these times.
