How are stereos in company trucks? Since I’ll be basically living in one for a few weeks at a time and music/podcasts will be my main entertainment, what can I expect? Do truck manufacturers put some thought into this and step it up a bit, or is it the most basic of head units and speakers? Bluetooth standard?
Is one manufacturer any better than others (I.e., Volvo is better than Freightliner)?
    Just curious.

Depends on the year, the 2019 Pete I have drive has this set up, I just pay 5 a month for the Sirius XM, it has blue tooth talk like a car, but it’s better to use a headset, some companies are cheap and only get the basic radio. But any truck built after 13 should have a hook up to play stuff through your smarty phone.

All the trucks ive been in had bluetooth, cant tell you about sirius as ive never used it. Out of all of them the Macks had the best sound quality, and loudest volume.

I don't think Volvo and Freightliner have stereos. Everyone I see driving one has their earbuds in!

Bluetooth seems to be pretty standard nowadays. Most are also sirius equipped and many companies now are even paying for it. You’ll want to get a headset though for phone calls, as the bluetooth mics in most trucks are basically useless when driving down the road.

My last headset broke years ago but I never replaced it, I decided I kinda like having a legit reason to not answer the phone lol.

From a sound geek. I thought the sound from the Cascadia was excellent.

The one in my 2019 freightliner cascadia would get stuck on settings and buttons/dial became unresponsive. No problems in my kenworth so far.

My 2020 Cascadia sounds great now that I replaced all the speakers. It has all the new bells and whistles

Regardless of the truck manufacturer, any stereo set up is better than the am/fm 8-track combo or even cassette...ask your grandfather.
